Studios and the crew union previously hit pause on talks over two contracts, which jointly cover tens of thousands of industry crew members, early in June.

Labor negotiations covering tens of thousands of members of IATSE who work under two separate contracts are set to resume on June 24, the crew union announced on Monday.
The union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have agreed to meet for four bargaining sessions between June 24 and 27, IATSE added in a statement to its members. Those discussions will cover both the Basic Agreement (a contract spanning 13 West Coast Locals and approximately 50,000 crew members) and the Area Standards Agreement (which encompasses 23 Locals and about 20,000 workers).
“We look forward to concluding our bargaining with the AMPTP and reaching an agreement that our members will be proud to ratify,” IATSE international president Matthew Loeb said in a statement.
The union and the AMPTP previously hit pause on their Basic Agreement and Area Standards Agreement discussions in early June. As for the Basic Agreement, the two sides remained at loggerheads over issues like wages and funding for health and pension benefits when the discussions broke off early in the morning on June 6. Still, union leaders have sounded notes of optimism when they have discussed the two contracts, with Loeb publicly suggesting in both cases that he sees a path forward to making a deal that members will approve.
The two contracts expire on July 31, and IATSE has stated that it does not wish to extend negotiations beyond that date. Meanwhile, this week, the AMPTP is at the bargaining table with the Hollywood Basic Crafts coalition of unions, including the Teamsters Local 399.
